Cincinnati’s Feast of Carols Celebrates Holiday Spirit with Music
Cincinnati is set to welcome the holiday season with the return of the annual Feast of Carols, a concert that has enriched the city’s winter festivities for over a century. Scheduled for December 6 and December 7, this choral celebration promises an array of beloved holiday music performed by talented local choirs and ensembles.
The event will feature the renowned CCM Chamber Choir, CCM Chorale, and the Cincinnati Youth Choir, among others. Each concert includes a diverse mix of performances by students from various high schools. On December 6, the School for Creative and Performing Arts will perform at 2 p.m., followed by Elder High School at 5 p.m.. The following day, Walnut Hills High School and Anderson High School will take the stage at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
The performances will be further enhanced by the participation of the Seven Hills Brass and various guest choirs, creating a rich tapestry of harmonious melodies that resonate with the spirit of the season.
Joe Miller, the Director of Choral Studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), expressed the importance of this event, stating, “This program is a cherished holiday and family tradition. Come and join us for an afternoon of joyful music that will awaken your holiday season.” Miller’s words reflect the longstanding significance of the Feast of Carols as a central part of Cincinnati’s holiday celebrations.
Attendees can expect an uplifting atmosphere, as families and friends gather to experience the warmth of live music together. The Feast of Carols not only showcases the talents of young performers but also reinforces the community spirit that defines this festive time of year.
