The search for Nancy Guthrie, missing since February 1, 2023, continues as her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, publicly pleads for her mother’s safe return. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that the Guthrie family, including all siblings and spouses, has been cleared as potential suspects in the case. Nanos emphasized the family’s cooperation throughout the investigation, stating, “To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims, plain and simple.”

Investigation Details and Family Response

Authorities believe that Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona, against her will. The ongoing investigation has entered its third week, prompting Savannah Guthrie to share her heartfelt plea via social media. “It is never too late to do the right thing,” she said, expressing hope in the inherent goodness of people and urging anyone with information to come forward.

The FBI is actively involved in the investigation, offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to Nancy’s location or the arrest of her suspected kidnapper. The investigation has produced some leads, including the recovery of a glove approximately two miles from her residence. This glove reportedly matches those worn by a masked individual seen near her home on the night of her disappearance. The item has been sent for DNA testing, with preliminary results awaited.

Sheriff Nanos mentioned that the clothing worn by the suspect in surveillance footage may have been purchased from Walmart, although it is not exclusive to that retailer. Investigators have not publicly named any suspects or persons of interest at this time.

Community and Law Enforcement Efforts

The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has garnered significant media attention, not only due to her connection with Savannah Guthrie, co-host of the “Today” show, but also because of the community’s response. Local residents and authorities continue to rally together, hoping for a resolution to this distressing case.

In her recent video message, Savannah reiterated the family’s unwavering hope, stating, “We still have hope and we still believe.” As the investigation progresses, both the Guthrie family and law enforcement remain committed to finding Nancy and bringing her home safely.

The situation serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by families during such crises, highlighting the profound impact of a loved one’s disappearance on the community and beyond. As the search intensifies, the call for assistance resonates widely, urging anyone with relevant information to step forward.
