The West Rusk Consolidated Independent School District (CCISD) has identified Jake Jackson as the sole finalist for the position of Superintendent. This decision, made by the district’s Board of Trustees, marks a significant step in Jackson’s career, as he transitions from his role as Principal of West Rusk High School, a position he has held since March 2010.

Jackson has a strong educational background, having graduated from West Rusk High School in 1997. He furthered his studies at Rice University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree, before obtaining a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Most recently, Jackson completed his Superintendent certification through Texas A&M University-Texarkana, which he will receive in 2025.

The Board of Trustees will adhere to the mandated 21-day waiting period before formally finalizing Jackson’s appointment. This process allows the community and stakeholders to engage with the decision and ensures transparency in the hiring process.

Jackson’s leadership is anticipated to bring continued dedication to the district and its educational community. His extensive experience in the West Rusk area positions him well to understand the unique needs of students and staff alike. As the transition period unfolds, both the Board and the community look forward to the positive impact Jackson is expected to make as they work towards enhancing educational outcomes in the district.
