Pete Davidson and Colin Jost’s Staten Island Ferry Dream Stalled

Pete Davidson and Colin Jost’s ambitious plan to transform an old Staten Island Ferry into an entertainment venue has yet to materialize, four years after the purchase. The ferry, acquired with the hope of creating a unique space for events and performances, remains unused and unrenovated as of October 2023.
The Staten Island Ferry, a well-known transportation service in New York City, has been in operation since 1905. Davidson and Jost, both prominent figures in the entertainment industry, initially envisioned the vessel as a vibrant hub for the community. However, the project has faced numerous delays and challenges that have hindered any progress towards renovation.
While the ferry project has stalled, other developments in the city are gaining attention. Curtis Sliwa, a local political figure, stated that former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo needs to cultivate his own support rather than relying on others. This comment reflects the ongoing political dynamics in the city, particularly as various individuals position themselves for future elections.
In a related political context, Alex Bores, a former employee of Palantir Technologies, is running for the congressional seat currently held by Representative Jerry Nadler. Bores, who has been described as tech-savvy, is among several candidates aiming to influence New York’s political landscape.
As Halloween approaches, forecasts indicate that the holiday weekend could be stormy, prompting residents to prepare for potential inclement weather. The city is also set to welcome a cheese conveyor-belt restaurant, a new dining concept that promises to delight food enthusiasts.
In cultural news, the Hoboken Historical Museum will host its annual historic house tour on October 29, 2023. This event showcases the architectural heritage of the area and offers residents and visitors a glimpse into the rich history of Hoboken.
As these developments unfold, the community remains hopeful that Davidson and Jost will eventually revive their Staten Island Ferry venture. For now, the iconic vessel serves as a reminder of ambitious dreams that are still waiting to set sail.
