Elections Office Opens Temporary Location in Sunny Isle Shopping Center
The Elections System of the Virgin Islands (ESVI) has opened a temporary office in the Sunny Isle Shopping Center, located near the food court. The new location began operating on March 4, 2024, and will remain open daily from 08:30 to 16:30 until further notice. This decision follows ongoing repair work at the St. Croix Elections office in its previous location within the center annex.
All services offered by ESVI will be available at the temporary site. Caroline F. Fawkes, the Supervisor of Elections, expressed her appreciation for the public’s understanding during this transition. She acknowledged the challenges posed by the office closure and extended her gratitude to her staff and the Board of Elections for their support.
In her statement, Fawkes emphasized, “The health and safety of the staff is important to me — taking care of people, our asset, is my No. 1 priority.” Her commitment to staff welfare highlights the importance of maintaining a safe working environment during the renovation process.
Residents can reach the St. Croix Elections office for any inquiries or concerns at (340) 773-1021. This move is part of the ESVI’s efforts to ensure continued access to electoral services while addressing necessary facility improvements.
As work continues at the original location, the temporary office aims to minimize disruption to voters and maintain operational efficiency. The public is encouraged to utilize the new site for all election-related services until the St. Croix office reopens.
