Downtown Kannapolis is set to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the inaugural **Cupid Kannapolis** event, scheduled from **February 7 to 15, 2024**. This initiative aims to promote local shopping and dining, featuring a variety of special offers from businesses around the city center. The event is coordinated by **Caleb Falls**, a former president of Downtown Kannapolis and an employee at **Falls Jewelers**.

Falls explained the goal of the event: “We are trying to get the city more involved in coordinated events and rally the business troops together.” This sentiment emphasizes the importance of community collaboration amidst challenging times.

Participating local eateries include **West Loop Local** and **Towel City Tavern**. On **February 13**, West Loop Local will offer a special champagne and charcuterie deal for **$16**, while Towel City Tavern has a Valentine’s dinner for two priced at **$90**, which includes an appetizer, two entrees, a dessert, and a bottle of wine.

In addition to dining options, **Eat Cakes** bakery is providing Valentine’s-themed treats such as chocolate-covered strawberries, heart-shaped cakes, and decorated cookies. Local boutiques are also joining in the festivities. At **Sweetest Beginnings**, customers can scratch off conversation hearts for discounts, with all Valentine’s items available at **15 percent off**. **Once in a Blue Moon** is offering a buy-one-get-one half-off deal on all mixed metal earrings.

Additionally, the **Kannapolis Cannon Ballers** are contributing to the local excitement by providing **15 percent off** all red merchandise purchased in their store. The event even extends to pets, as the **Carolina Groom Room** is offering complimentary Valentine bows and bandanas for dogs groomed between **February 7 and 15**.

Many businesses are not just offering products but also unique experiences. **SoFul West Avenue** is providing a free class for first-time visitors who come with a member through **February 15**. Falls Jewelers is stepping outside its typical offerings by providing a complimentary **30-minute massage** with purchases over **$300**, and a date night package at Towel City Tavern for purchases exceeding **$600**.

To further enhance community engagement, a series of events are scheduled throughout the week. A **Galentine’s Shop Hop** will take place on **February 7** from **12 p.m. to 4 p.m.**, featuring local vendors on Main Street, along with cocktail tastings and complimentary chair massages at **Southern Collective**. On **February 14**, West Loop Local will host a DJ from **8 p.m. to 12 a.m.** to celebrate the holiday.

The **Swanee Theatre** will feature a performance by the **Swinging Medallions** on **February 13** at **8 p.m.**, and tickets will be given away on their Facebook and Instagram pages.

Falls emphasized the significance of this event, especially after the winter weather impacts many local businesses. “It’s a big group for sure. When one person succeeds, we all succeed,” he stated. This collaborative effort not only highlights local offerings but also fosters a sense of community spirit, crucial for economic recovery and ongoing support of local enterprises.
