Schuman Cheese, a leading North American importer and distributor of specialty cheeses, has announced a new partnership with Wyke Farms, the largest independent cheese producer in the United Kingdom. Under this agreement, Schuman will become the exclusive supplier for Wyke Farms and its sub-brand, Ivy’s Reserve, in the U.S. market, significantly enhancing Schuman’s portfolio of premium imported cheeses.

The partnership, effective from January 8, 2026, aims to leverage nearly 300 years of British cheesemaking heritage, particularly in the production of renowned British cheddars and butter. This collaboration underscores Schuman’s strategy to expand its offerings while ensuring the long-term stewardship of established heritage brands.

Strengthening the Portfolio

Schuman Cheese has a history of fostering strong brand partnerships. By incorporating Wyke Farms, it enhances its lineup of international cheese brands, reinforcing its leadership in the specialty cheese sector. The Ivy’s Reserve range, which includes premium aged cheddars and artisanal butter, is especially notable. These products are crafted in Somerset, where the unique aging process contributes to a creamier texture and complex flavor profiles.

“Ivy’s Reserve represents our commitment to quality and heritage,” said Ian Schuman, Executive Vice President of International Business Development at Schuman Cheese. He emphasized that the collaboration with Wyke Farms aligns perfectly with Schuman’s values of sustainability and excellence.

Richard Clothier MBE, Managing Director of Wyke Farms, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He noted, “My grandmother Ivy seldom left Somerset, so she would be truly amazed to know that the cheese and butter bearing her name are now enjoyed across the United States.” This collaboration will not only bring the flavors of Somerset to American consumers but also ensure that the family’s dedication to quality continues for future generations.

Commitment to Sustainability

Wyke Farms is recognized for its commitment to sustainable dairy production, exemplified by its 100% Green strategy. This initiative focuses on achieving carbon-neutral operations by utilizing renewable energy sources, including solar power and biogas. The company aims to lead the industry in environmentally friendly practices, with an anaerobic digester plant that saves over 20 million kilos of CO2 annually.

The partnership with Schuman aligns with Wyke Farms’ mission to combine tradition with sustainability, continuing to produce award-winning cheddar while supporting local agriculture and communities. With the addition of Wyke Farms to its portfolio, Schuman Cheese further solidifies its position as a steward of globally respected brands, offering a diverse selection of imported, premium, and heritage cheeses to its customers.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to quality and heritage, ensuring that both companies contribute positively to the industry while meeting consumer demand for exceptional products. For more information about Schuman Cheese and its offerings, visit their official website.
