Donyelle Jones, Beloved Dancer, Passes Away at 46 After Cancer Battle
Donyelle Jones, a finalist from the reality television series *So You Think You Can Dance*, has passed away at the age of 46 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Her family shared the heartbreaking news on her social media account on December 2, 2025, where tributes from fans and fellow dancers have poured in.
In a poignant message posted on her official Instagram account, a family member wrote, “Today at 8:34 am, Donyelle Denise Wilson transitioned. A wife. A daughter. A sister. A friend. And a warrior who kicked cancer’s a– every single day she was here. Her spirit never dimmed. Her heart never hardened. And even in the storm, she never lost her smile.”
Jones was diagnosed with stage 3C breast cancer in 2016, a diagnosis that escalated to stage 4 metastatic cancer over the years. To combat the disease, she underwent a double mastectomy and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, as reported by the organization Dancers Against Cancer. Throughout her challenging journey, Jones remained open about her health on social media, providing updates to her followers.
