Hart District’s Got Talent Breaks Participation Records in 2026

The annual event, Hart District’s Got Talent, reached a new milestone this year with the highest participation levels since its inception. Hosted by the WiSH Education Foundation, the event took place on February 27, 2026, at the Saugus High School theater, showcasing a diverse array of performances ranging from vocal acts to instrumental showcases.

A vibrant atmosphere filled the theater as students from the William S. Hart Union High School District took to the stage, overcoming their fears to share their talents with the community. This year, participation tripled compared to previous years, with over 30 performances from students across local junior and high schools. Among the standout contributors was Rio Norte Junior High School, which boasted the largest student participation with 16 acts.

Christy Alben, vice chair of the WiSH Foundation, has been instrumental in the success of the talent show. “We have tripled in the last three years. There are five students that have performed all three years with us. There are 10 students returning from last year,” Alben stated during the show. This growth indicates a thriving interest in the arts among students who may have otherwise felt hesitant to showcase their abilities.

Before the performances, participants received guidance from professional entertainers Michael Nomad Ripoll and Danyelle Lola Sanders. Their support aimed to ensure that each performer felt confident and prepared to engage the audience. This initiative not only helps students develop their skills but also encourages a sense of community and belonging within the district.

Cherise Moore, a member of the Hart District board and a director at the WiSH Foundation, emphasized the event’s significance. “This allows us to continue connection with what our mission is at WiSH, while also showcasing talent through the arts,” she explained. Moore highlighted that many participants might not have other opportunities to share their talents, making this event a valuable platform for self-expression.

As the night unfolded, performers like Autumn Frost captivated the audience with heartfelt covers, embodying the spirit of the event. Moore expressed her hope that students would maintain their enthusiasm and continue to nurture their creative energy. “My hope is that we continue to grow each year and this will be a must-see, a must-perform event,” she said.

Alben echoed this sentiment, expressing her amazement at the level of talent on display. “I am blown away by this talent, as I have been for the last two years now,” she stated. With such enthusiastic participation, Hart District’s Got Talent looks poised to become a staple in the community, celebrating the artistic abilities of its students and fostering connections within the district.
