Lizzo Celebrates 60-Pound Weight Loss in Bold Bikini Post
Lizzo has entered 2026 with a striking display of confidence, showcasing her significant weight loss in a white bikini. The 37-year-old Grammy-winning artist posted a selfie on Instagram on January 6, highlighting her reported 60-pound weight loss while wearing a two-piece from her shapewear line, Yitty. In the photo, taken inside her home in Beverly Hills, she struck a confident pose, hands on her hips, radiating self-assurance with a fresh, makeup-free look.
Alongside the bikini shot, Lizzo shared another image of herself in a bold blue-patterned romper from Pucci. In her playful caption, she wrote, “YITTY & a Pucci fit… nastyyyyy,” adding a cheeky tongue-out emoji to emphasize her enjoyment of the moment. This celebratory post followed her recent legal victory, marking a positive start to the new year.
Confronting Body-Shaming
Lizzo’s post comes on the heels of her response to a viral body-shaming joke that circulated in December 2025. On December 4, she had shared a cropped bikini photo that excluded her head, coupled with a powerful message addressing the ridicule she’s faced. “Today I saw a fat joke about me— in 2025—and it was viral. It was a dumb joke and they were just laughing at me because I’m fat,” she stated.
Her message emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and urged her followers to disregard negative opinions about their bodies. She asserted, “Let me be a reminder to everyone to NEVER let anyone shame you for what you choose to do with your body.” Lizzo pointed out that regardless of size, societal judgment persists: “Your body will never be good enough for them because it’s not FOR them. It’s for you.”
In her candid remarks, she addressed potential changes to her body, declaring, “If I get a BBL mind ur business, if lose 100lbs mind ur business, if I gain every pound back and then some… mind ur f***ing business.” Lizzo concluded her post with a reminder of her accomplishments, stating, “Anyways.. my fat ass stays living with a paid off mortgage in yall b****es heads.”
Body Positivity and Personal Transformation
Lizzo has become a prominent figure in the body positivity movement, celebrated for her message of self-love and acceptance. Despite her recent weight loss, she has expressed the challenges of being defined solely by her size. In her inaugural essay on Substack, titled “Why is everybody losing weight and what do we do? Sincerely, a person who’s lost weight,” she opened up about the frustration of being reduced to her appearance.
She reflected on her journey, stating, “I was sick and tired of my identity being overshadowed by my fatness. People could not see my talent as a musician because they were too busy accusing me of making ‘being fat’ my whole personality.” This sentiment resonates with many who grapple with societal expectations regarding body image.
Lizzo’s recent posts and reflections serve as a reminder of the ongoing conversation about body image and self-acceptance, encouraging individuals to embrace their unique journeys without fear of judgment. As she continues to inspire others through her music and personal experiences, Lizzo remains a powerful advocate for body positivity and self-love.
