Pixar Unveils Teaser for Upcoming Film “Hoppers” Ahead of Release
Disney and Pixar have revealed a teaser for their highly anticipated animated film, Hoppers, set to hit theaters on March 6, 2026. The film, which has been in development since 2020 and was officially announced at the D23 Expo in 2024, showcases the creative talent of director Daniel Chong, known for the series We Bare Bears.
Teaser Highlights Engaging Plot and Characters
The recently released one-minute teaser provides a glimpse into the narrative of Hoppers. It opens with Dr. Sam explaining to the main character, Mabel, that their groundbreaking technology grants humans “unprecedented access” to the animal world. Mabel, quick to grasp the implications, responds, “You created a fake animal, which makes the other animals think you’re an animal.”
Dr. Sam’s invention draws a humorous parallel to the technology featured in the film Avatar, a comparison that Mabel makes as Sam dismisses it. The scene transitions as Mabel, transformed into a beaver, ventures into the animal world, where she encounters various creatures and introduces herself.
However, the dynamic between Mabel and Dr. Sam becomes tense as she inadvertently activates a device that may compromise their cover. Mabel enthusiastically rallies the animals to resist human encroachment on their habitats, but her resolve is tested when Insect Queen, a butterfly, provocatively declares, “Let’s squish the humans!” This moment sets the stage for an intense interaction, as more animals join in, chanting “Squish.”
Action-Packed Scenes and Talented Voice Cast
The teaser escalates with scenes depicting ants and frogs gearing up for battle, culminating in a dramatic moment where something crashes into a cliff, causing an explosion. An injured lizard comments, “That was intense,” underscoring the film’s adventurous tone.
In a humorous twist, the footage closes with a scene featuring a character named Jerry, who is startled by Mabel and another beaver as they enter his car. In a clever act, Mabel steals Jerry’s phone and sends a message, read aloud by an AI voice, warning him that his life is in danger. The urgent message instructs him to comply with Mabel and the other beaver, leading to a hasty getaway.
Hoppers promises to be an engaging blend of humor, adventure, and ecological themes. Alongside Daniel Chong, the screenplay has been developed by Jesse Andrews. The film features a star-studded voice cast, including Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Dave Franco, and Meryl Streep.
As anticipation builds for its release, Hoppers is poised to captivate audiences with its imaginative storyline and vibrant characters, solidifying Pixar’s reputation for delivering innovative animated films.
