Immediate Community Events: Join Spring Meetings and Fundraisers Now!
URGENT UPDATE: Exciting community events are happening in Luzerne County, with key meetings and fundraisers set to engage residents this March. Mark your calendars for a series of gatherings aimed at bringing together individuals and supporting local causes!
Join the Luzerne County Wilkes University Polish Room for its spring meeting on March 10 at 5 p.m. at Theo’s Metro, located at 596 Mercer Ave, Kingston. The spring schedule of events will be discussed, followed by dinner—attendees will cover their own meal costs. In a significant show of support, the Alhamar Caravan No. 4 is hosting a spring dinner dance for Special Olympics bowlers and their guests on March 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fox Hill Country Club, located at 454 Tunkhannock Ave., Exeter. Reservations and payments are due by March 11, with a cost of $35 per attendee. Enjoy an evening of entertainment with DJ Joe Hussey while indulging in a delicious menu that includes stuffed chicken breast and chocolate mousse. Furthermore, the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees is hosting a quarterly luncheon on March 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at LCCC’s Educational Conference Center, located at 1333 S. Prospect St., Nanticoke. The event is free for dues-paid members and features guest speaker State Rep. Alex Ryncavage, who will engage with attendees. From March 9 to March 20, the All-Campus Food Drive at Luzerne County Community College will be collecting non-perishable food items to support students in need. Join the 2026 Allan Hamilton Dickson Spring Writers Series featuring acclaimed author Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah on March 25 at 7 p.m. at Wilkes University. Adjei-Brenyah’s novel, “Chain-Gang All-Stars,” has received numerous accolades. This event is free and open to the public.
