The return of Vicki Gunvalson to the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County has elicited a response from Eddie Judge, husband of former cast member Tamra Judge. During the January 6, 2024, episode of iHeartRadio’s podcast “The Ed’s,” Eddie shared his thoughts on the casting decision and reflected on past tensions.

Eddie acknowledged that while he and Vicki have had their disagreements, he believes in moving on from past conflicts. He stated, “What she did, she did on the show, and what she did to me really wasn’t that big a deal.” This comment references a 2017 incident where Vicki invited other cast members to discuss Eddie’s sexuality, leading to significant backlash. Eddie has consistently denied those claims.

Despite their history, Eddie expressed a desire for reconciliation. He remarked, “At the end of the day, it does help that I like Mike. Mike’s a cool cat. I really, really like Mike,” referring to Vicki’s boyfriend, Michael Smith. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness, saying, “You got to forgive, forget and move on.”

Staying Out of the Drama

Eddie also discussed his approach to the drama that often unfolds on reality television. He emphasized that he prefers to remain a supportive figure for Tamra rather than engaging in the show’s conflicts. “I’m not a Housewife,” he stated, adding some playful commentary about other partners who become more involved. “They want their 15 minutes on a female Housewife show. That’s all. I’m not about that.”

His role, according to Eddie, is to support Tamra as she navigates the challenges of being in the spotlight. “This is not a show about guys,” he reiterated. “My only place is to support you — call it a supporting role.”

Eddie also addressed misconceptions about Tamra, noting that the public often views her differently than she truly is. “The biggest misconception is that you are mean and a drunk and really hard to be friends with,” he said. He described her as a homebody who prioritizes family, contrasting the show’s portrayal with her true nature.

Support Through Uncertainty

As the couple awaits official announcements about the upcoming season, Eddie made it clear that he does not feel disappointed if Tamra is not asked to return for season 20. He explained, “At the end of the day, this is your thing. You battle with it.” He is committed to supporting her decisions, regardless of the outcome.

Eddie also emphasized the importance of communication and brainstorming with Tamra. “I’m in a position to help bounce off ideas,” he said. “This is about you, and you’re great on the show — the few episodes that I watch.” This highlights his supportive stance while acknowledging the complexities of reality television.

As fans speculate about the future of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Eddie Judge’s perspective offers a glimpse into the personal lives of the cast beyond the drama. The series continues to attract attention, streaming now on Peacock, as viewers await further developments in the cast lineup.
