Maryland officials have announced plans for a new entertainment venue, the Sphere, at National Harbor. With a capacity of **6,000 seats**, the Sphere is set to feature cutting-edge technology, including a **16K x 16K interior display** and **Sphere Immersive Sound**.

If approved, this venue could significantly boost the local economy, with projections indicating an annual impact of approximately **$1 billion**. The development is expected to create around **2,500 construction jobs** and **4,750 operational positions**, contributing substantially to the job market in the region. Maryland Governor **Wes Moore** expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “This will be one of the largest economic development projects in **Prince George’s County** history – proving once again our state is the best place in the country to bring dreams to life.”

Located just **15 minutes** from downtown **Washington, D.C.**, National Harbor already attracts over **15 million visitors** annually.
